Come 1am on a Friday or Saturday night in Bangor town centre Spice Island is packed to the rafters with locals queuing for their delights. My meal of choice is always a Chicken Tikka Kebab on Chip with Kebab Sauce. This meal has been known to cure a hangover before it even kicks in!

Can't speak highly enough of the staff in Spice Island, they have to deal with Bangor's drunks on a daily basis and do so with smiles on their faces.

Spice island also do a delivery service if you don't want to queue in store.

Spice Island. Bacon and cheese burgers are to die for. Simple fare yes, but at midnight, ya don't want fancy! That aside. I had the calzone folded pizza tonight. 12" cos I'm greedy but not totally obese enough to go for the 14". I had planned to save half for my work lunch tomorrow but, to be honest, it was so tasty I ate it all. Greedy, no doubt, but a testimony to how good the food was. They are now my first call after leaving the pub in Bangor. Can't go wrong!

"Chicken tikka Kebab on chip with kebab Sauce please Jazz!"

If you remember one sentence from these reviews remember that one, this is because this is quite possibly the greatest drunk grub you could want, its greasy, its moist, it even has chips to soak up a little bit of alcohol but not too much.

I love Spice Island it has always provided much entertainment for me after a night out in Bangor. People spill out of the pubs and clubs at around 1.15am and you will not be able to get in the Door of Spice Island by 1.20 am. But I think this place is worth the wait, it may be a bit dodgy at times and I have seen a few fights start in Spice Island but as long as you keep your head down, don't make eye contact with anyone you don't know you should be alright.

The staff are always amazing in Spice Island, Im not sure if they enjoy the customers drunken banter but they always take it with a pinch of salt. They rarely have you waiting longer than 15 minutes and if you saw this place at 1.25 am you would wonder how that is possible.

This is a pretty standard kebab shop that you would never go near unless you had plenty of drinks in you and fancied as dirty as kebab as possible. You can get pizzas, chips, kebabs and chicken kebabs. The staff are dead on enough and always do their best to get you the right food and get it to you quickly.

It really isn't as good as Piccolla across the road but it is pretty good for what it is. There can be a little bit of trouble in here from time to time and I have seen quite a few fights which would make you stay away.

All in all though, not bad, but not great.
